Meet David
I love being part of the lives of the other fellow sponsors and the students we minister to. Also, it's awesome to see the students grow in their faith.
The Parable of the Lost Son in Luke 15:11-32 is my favorite parable Jesus taught. I grew up in a Christian home and went to church regularly but during my high school years, Jesus really didn't mean much to me. I rebelled a lot against my parents and being half Korean and half Caucasian, I never felt I truly belonged to any one group and struggled a lot with trying to discover my identity. Since I went my own way during this time, I made a lot of poor choices and found my life empty and meaningless.
Then one Sunday in July 1998 while in basic training, I decided to go to chapel service. During that service, 2500 miles away from home, I realized I needed Jesus Christ and accepted Him as my personal Lord and Savior. After I made that decision, I discovered my identity and purpose in Him. I was that lost son who finally realized I needed to come home and when I did, it was into his His loving arms.
